Bodies of Korean pilots found after three months
Post on: 2011-11-02 By: admin
The South Korean coast guard said on Sunday it had recovered the bodies of two pilots who went missing when their cargo plane crashed into the sea off the south coast in July.
The bodies of the 52-year-old chief pilot of the Asiana Airlines Boeing 744 and his 43-year-old co-pilot were found in waters off South Korea's southern Jeju island on Sunday morning, the coast guard said.
"Workers hired by Asiana Airlines discovered the front part of the aircraft, and two badly-decomposed bodies were stuck in the cockpit," a spokesman for the Jeju coast guard said, adding that the flight recorders had yet to be found.
The plane, which had taken off from Incheon headed for Shanghai, disappeared from the radar on July 28 after reporting a fire on board. Debris was later found in the sea west of Jeju.
Ever since the crash, Seoul-based Asiana had been searching for the bodies of the two pilots and the "black box" flight recorders in the hope they could provide clues about the cause of its first plane crash in nearly 20 years.

What in the hell is a Boeing 744????
Boeing 744? New air craft ?
• Portland, United States•
744 is shorthand for 747-400.
Why does the article have to stress in a negative manner that it TOOK THREE MONTHS???The airlines has an excellent record not held by others (20 years no accident) and they have kept trying to locate them even after 3 months. These kind of headlined articles should be edited and not allowed to be presented like this, thanks again Yahoo. deceptive/negative news editors......

I suppose that the insurance payment to the family of the deceased Chief Pilot is on hold pending the recovery of the black box. Problem is, will they be able to recover the black box at all.
Smells like a conspiracy to me.

Now you find me after 3 months and death, thanks a for nothing @zsholes.
Boeing 744 is apparently an abbreviation for Boeing 747-400.
